Duties Description • Working knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in trades to which assigned.
• Working knowledge of applicable standards, plumbing and electrical code regulations.
• Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures.
• Ability to use tools, machines, equipment and materials of the craft or crafts to which assigned.
• Ability to read plans, specifications, manuals and blueprints.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor.
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
• Ability to plan and lay out work and diagnose problems.
• Ability to train and supervise others.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights on scaffolds and platforms.
• As assigned, ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Working knowledge of various HVAC systems within the residencies
This position will require obtaining a Department of Health Public Water System Operator Certification for a grade C plant using the next available training opportunity. Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
Additional Comments Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position will require travel to provide services to all locations in Region 1. Cannabis use is not permitted for employees in this title. Cannabis use will be tested for during the pre employment screening process and may be the basis for disqualification for employment or may be a basis for removal from employment.
