Duties Description - Business Outreach and Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to identify, recruit, and cultivate relationships with businesses to create employment opportunities for job seekers with disabilities; Conduct outreach and deliver presentations to businesses to promote Employment First principles and the benefits of hiring workers with disabilities; Build strong partnerships with key business leaders, HR professionals, disability service providers, and essential stakeholders.

- Education and Awareness: Educate private industry about the benefits of employing people with disabilities, the value of a diverse workforce and the positive impact on the business, reasonable accommodations, and increase understanding of disabilities and disability etiquette.

- Technical Assistance: Provide assistance to businesses in the private sector on how to increase the number of people with disabilities employed and help businesses have a better understanding of the disability-related laws and regulations.

- Collaboration: Serve as the liaison and the connector between New York businesses and the providers, networks and state agencies that have people with disabilities seeking jobs.

- Data Collection and Analysis: Coordinate with the Employment First Data Manager to collect and analyze data on the effectiveness of Employment First initiatives within the private sector.

- Event Planning and Participation: Represent the Office of the Chief Disability Officer at Business Councils, Chamber of Commerce meetings, industry conferences, and other events. Coordination and recruitment of businesses to attend job fairs for people with disabilities.

- Policy Development: Make recommendations on policies and initiatives that will increase the number of people with disabilities employed in private

Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, Human Service Field, Public Administration or a related field and four years of experience in community organizations or government agencies focusing on workforce development, employment services for people with disabilities or diverse populations, business development, or related experience. J.D. or master's degree may substitute for one year of specialized experience; Ph.D. may substitute for two years of specialized experience.

- Experience with presenting at industry or other conferences, public speaking and written communication. A writing sample and a presentation created will be required.
- Strong understanding of Employment First principles and disability-related laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications and other related software to prepare presentations, communications and analyze data.
- Prior managerial experience.
- People with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
